You will be part of a small, passionate team, delivering excellent customer service, while supporting the delivery of Inspiring Libraries, the 10 year Strategy for Hertfordshire Libraries. You will support the Library Manager in actively supervising the team, including staff timetabling, training and development and to assist with the delivery and promotion of all frontline services in the library. You will provide service and administrative support as directed by members of the Area Management Team. You will ensure that all staff actively promote the library to customers as: a hub for community information and activities a place where they can access and benefit from digital technology a gateway to reading, information and wellbeing To contribute to the Inspiring Libraries ambition of attracting more visitors through participation in and support of outreach and promotional activities in the community. Buntingford Library, SG9 9AE 18.50 Hours per week, Buntingford Library is a recently refurbished small Tier Two Library that occupies a prime location in the historic town's High Street. You will be joining a friendly, dedicated team and will contribute to all events, from Baby Rhyme Times to Historical Society meetings, complementing our position as a key part of the local community. About the role You will have the skills and abilities to support the Library Manager to actively supervise the team at Buntingford Library, including staff timetabling, training and development. You will also support the Library Manager with statistic and financial data, Health & Safety as well as act as the senior on duty as and when required. You will have the ability to compile, maintain and provide effective returns for monthly statistical information. You will also actively engage with the delivery and promotion of all frontline services in the library and outreach activities as required. About you Essential You will have excellent communication and administration skills and you will be passionate about providing great customer care. You will have demonstrable experience in leading a team in a supervisory role, working collaboratively to achieve aims and objectives as set by the Library Manager and wider Library teams. You will have excellent time management skills and organisational skills, being able to manage workloads alongside supervisory responsibilities in a methodical manner. You will be a competent user of Microsoft Packages including Word and Excel in order to collate and present data, and have an ability to support others in using technology. Desirable: Above all, you will be a reliable and flexible team player who is willing and able to engage with the full range of services, activities, and events that libraries offer.
