Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner 4
NHS AfC: Band 4
Job overview
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is an established provider of the national programme for Talking Therapies. NHS Talking Therapies provides stepped care evidenced-based treatment for people with mild to moderate common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to apply to join us as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). This is a 12 month fixed term training post and on successful completion of the training course, you will be able to apply for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner positions.
The start date will be March 2025
We have trainee positions available in the following services:
Tameside Talking Therapies and Bury Talking Therapies.
Please include on your application your preferred working location. While we will do our best to match successful applicants to their preferred location, this may not always be possible.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in primary mental health care at University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) for the duration of your training course. You will attend university for part of the week and will be working within the service for the remaining time of the week in order to implement and develop your skills in clinical practice.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in evidence-based low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for common mental health problems and to gain the accreditation you need to practice as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). Our PWPs have been known to progress on to the Trainee high intensity therapist/CBT course, so there is real scope for development and progression from this programme and within psychological therapies with Pennine Care.
