As KS1 Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of KS1 at our school, driving high-quality teaching and learning, and supporting our talented teaching staff. KS1 Lead Teacher Responsibilities Lead the KS1 team, setting clear expectations for teaching and learning and fostering a culture of excellence. Oversee the development and delivery of the KS1 curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, inclusive, and supports all learners to achieve their potential. Monitor pupil progress, using assessments effectively to track and report on achievements, and provide targeted support where needed. Lead the development of teaching practices across KS1, sharing best practices, offering guidance, and ensuring continuous improvement. Support and mentor KS1 staff, providing guidance on effective classroom management, lesson delivery, and assessment. Build a positive classroom culture that encourages children to enjoy learning, be respectful, and achieve their best. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about progress and supporting them in their children’s development. Play an active role in the wider leadership team, contributing to whole-school planning, initiatives, and ongoing development. Lead and promote school-wide initiatives within KS1, making a meaningful contribution to the overall school improvement plan. KS1 Lead Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in KS1, with a proven record of achieving excellent outcomes for students. Previous leadership experience or the potential to lead a team and mentor staff effectively. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS1 and how to use assessment to inform teaching. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. A commitment to developing young learners and creating an environment that fosters enthusiasm for learning. Proactive leadership with a clear vision for improving teaching and learning across KS1.
