Myn is recruiting for our long-term client in Basingstoke. This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Social Worker to join a Childrens Assessment and Safeguarding Team (CAST). If you are committed to making a difference in the lives of children and families, this role is for you.
The Role
As a Social Worker in CAST, you will manage a caseload of around 25 families, working alongside a strong, experienced management team. You will receive regular supervision, administrative support, and access to professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess risks and social care needs within legal and statutory frameworks.
* Work closely with other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
* Develop and implement care plans, ensuring services meet individual needs.
* Take appropriate action to protect vulnerable children in line with safeguarding policies.
* Maintain accurate case records and produce reports to support decision-making.
* Monitor and review care packages, ensuring they remain effective.
* Provide guidance on benefits, fees, and allowances to support families in achieving independence.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Social Work (CQSW/DipSW or equivalent).
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
* Knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding, and substitute care.
* Strong assessment, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to write clear, concise reports.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Understanding of equalities, confidentiality, and data protection policies.
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required.
