Job overview
The Great Yarmouth & Waveney Youth Team covers a beautiful coastal area, from South Norfolk down to Southwold; where you can expect big stretches of sandy beaches, iconic seaside towns and friendly villages set in the heart of the Broads National Park.

Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive specialist clinical psychology assessment of complex clients within the service. This includes the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data from a variety of sources.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent, including eligibility for chartered status with the BPS
* Further post-qualification, postgraduate training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
* Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
Experience
* Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems.
* Application of psychology in different cultural contexts
* Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
Skills
* Use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
* Assessment, evaluation and management of risk associated with mental ill health.
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively complex information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues.
Knowledge
* Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies.
* Practitioner level knowledge of at least two models of psychological therapy.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Other
* Capacity to exercise careful clinical judgement whilst having the ability to work with and to hold the stress of others in the work setting.
* Able to identify, and employ appropriate clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice.
* Ability to travel independently.
