Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant Start date: As soon as possible Contract: Full time, permanent Working hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only Salary: Starting at £16 per hour We are currently seeking an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist educational provision. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to work with young people who face significant challenges, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive. About the provision: This specialised provision offers tailored support to vulnerable pupils whose mainstream school placements may have been broken down. Working with secondary-aged students, the focus is on helping them get back on track through a personalised approach to education. Pupils either reintegrate into mainstream schools or complete their education within the provision. The staff collaborate with a wide range of external agencies to ensure every pupil receives the guidance and resources they need. The curriculum is carefully designed to inspire and empower pupils, enabling them to reach their full potential as lifelong learners. About the role: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Support pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs Lead small-group sessions or provide one-to-one interventions to meet individual learning goals Work collaboratively with teachers and external agencies to deliver a holistic approach to education Encourage resilience, personal growth and positive behaviours in pupils Tailor learning resources and approaches to meet the diverse needs of students What we’re looking for: The ideal candidate will embody the values of patience, empathy and determination. You will have: Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs (SEMH experience is highly desirable) Experience in teaching/leading groups Strong communication and teamwork skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and external agencies.
