This setting based in St Albans is looking to hire an Early Years Practitioner/Early Years Assistant.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nursery practitioner to join our friendly team. If you have a passion for childcare and a desire to nurture young children, we want to hear from you.
They can offer full-time or part-time hours:
* 8am to 6pm, 4 days per week
* 5 days per week, 12-6pm (also considered)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary:
* £21,415.68 per annum, 4-day week, Unqualified
* £22,464 per annum, 4-day week, Qualified
* £26,769.60 per annum, 5-day week, Unqualified
* £28,080.00 per annum, 5-day week, Qualified
Additional benefits include 22.5 - 28 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care for children in the nursery.
2. Provide for children's holistic development through a supportive environment fostering self-esteem and autonomy.
3. Implement the daily routine under the supervision of the Room Leader.
4. Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum after training.
5. Support children's learning and development.
6. Work alongside the Principal and management team to uphold the nursery's ethos.
Main Duties:
1. Operate a suitable programme of activities in conjunction with the Room Leader.
2. Prepare and update developmental records, monitor progress, and incorporate next steps.
3. Partner with parents, guardians, and family members.
4. Implement Individual Education Plans under the guidance of the SENCO and Room Leader.
5. Support children with special educational needs for full integration.
6. Implement the Keyworker system and mentor new practitioners.
7. Attend staff meetings and training outside normal hours.
8. Follow nursery policies and ensure positive behaviour management.
9. Assess health and safety hazards daily and report hazards.
10. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
11. Undertake domestic duties such as snack preparation and equipment cleaning.
12. Promote inclusion, equality, and diversity.
13. Support the nursery's philosophy and ethos with the management team.
