To perform CT examinations and become part of the 24/7 shifts to cover emergency CT scans. Be prepared to organise workload and re-arrange junior staff allocation to meet service demands. To supervise and train junior radiographic staff, Assistant Practitioners, and students.
The post holder will be required to take part in the general department rotation and maintain skills in plain film radiography and theatre work.
Maintain own CPD file and organise staff and workload to facilitate other staff having time for CPD and mandatory training. Report equipment faults promptly and re-arrange appointments if necessary. Ensure own practice complies with relevant legislation, e.g. IR (ME) R 2000, Trust policies, and meets clinical governance requirements.
Participate in equipment Q.A. and keep required records. Be competent and confident with all I.T. systems within Radiology for both clinical, e.g. PACS, and managerial use. Have a professional approach to patients and colleagues at all times and challenge unacceptable behavior. Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns to meet the needs of the service and staff.
