Due to career development of existing staff, and service developments, we have some exciting opportunities for a static Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist post. This post would suit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge, or a Band 5 Occupational Therapist ready to further develop their skills and career. You will be working as a key member of the team supporting patients on the acute medical and HCOOP wards, offering assessment and treatment plans, alongside discharge planning. The successful candidate would be expected to:
* To manage a clinical caseload of patients, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and evaluation of patient-centred care.
* To be able to facilitate safe discharge planning from hospital to the community.
* To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team
* To be actively involved with training and development within the Department in support of new graduate Occupational therapists, student therapists, therapy apprentices and support workers alongside other senior members of the team.
* Promote the role of OT and demonstrate the values to the members of the multi-disciplinary team.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference'. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
