Ecclesiastical Insurance, who are proudly part ofBenefact Groupare looking for a Head of Organisational Resilienceto join ourGloucesteroffice.The Head of Organisational Resilience oversees the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity strategy and execution for Ecclesiastical Insurance Office (EIO).
The primary purpose is to ensure that the business achieves, maintains and develops the proper level of organisational resilience in the context of an ever-developing range of threats. The role involves setting strategy, developing policy, and establishing execution frameworks within which the business must operate. The role oversees the development of appropriate plans for testing in the context of the development environment and ensures that these are integrated into a rolling programme of testing that improves overall operational resilience and enables the business to meet its regulatory standards.
The role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in first, second and third line to help oversee and manage operational risk and deliver and embed Operational Resilience practices in line with relevant regulatory expectations in the UK, EU and Canada, including Third Party and Change risk management. The role will manage a small team of specialists.
The role is critical to ensuring that EIO operations remain resilient and able to recover quickly when required, ensuring that the business remains able to protect its customers, colleagues and the security of the business.
Key responsibilities
* Review and enhance the organisational resilience strategy, developing policy, and establishing execution frameworks within which the business must operate.
* Refine, deploy and oversee the operational resilience assessment framework
* Refine, deploy and oversee the horizon scanning and threat assessment approach for the business
* Refine, deploy and oversee the operational resilience testing regime
* Refine, deploy and oversee the Business Continuity testing regime
* Refine, deploy and oversee the Third party resilience testing regime.
* Enhance Operational Resilience maturation across the business, fostering continuous improvement (CI) capabilities, mindsets, and behaviours within site teams to align with business and site imperatives.
* Actively engage in relevant operational risk and resilience governance forums/committees and industry groups with oversight of issues and control gaps remediation.
* Review and challenge compliance with the risk and control framework (including adherence to policies and standards).
* Drive foundational and thematic initiatives in accordance with the overall Operational Resilience framework and long-range plan
* Develop and manage the team of resources required to support the Organisational Resilience strategy
* Work closely with the Group Shared Services and UK leadership to refine strategies that address critical business challenges.
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Operational resilience experience within the Financial Services industry.
* Knowledge of FCA/PRA Operational Resilience regulations and implementation.
* Experience working in a Risk and Control environment, good knowledge, and hands on experience of company-wide programme implementation
* Experience with stress and scenario testing.
* Change and third-party risk management experience is desirable.
* Business Continuity / Disaster recovery experience
* Stakeholder management skills – confident communicator – ability to influence and challenge decision making.
* Knowledge of general insurance products and processes
* Ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively across multiple departments
* Proven team / people management
* Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload
* Able to act on initiative and make decisions
