Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Workshop Tail Lift Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of tail lifts and vehicle-mounted lifting equipment. Working in a fast-paced workshop environment, the fitter will ensure that all tasks meet safety and quality standards while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation and Fitting:
* Install new tail lifts, hydraulic platforms, and other lifting equipment on commercial vehicles.
* Repairs and Maintenance:
* Diagnose and repair faults on tail lifts, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
* Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment functions safely and efficiently.
* Testing and Compliance:
* Perform regular load testing and safety checks in line with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).
* Ensure all repairs and installations meet industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
* Documentation:
* Complete and maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and job sheets.
* Update databases or systems with completed work details.
* Workshop Safety and Cleanliness:
* Adhere to all health and safety policies within the workshop.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Essential:
* Proven experience in fitting and maintaining tail lifts or similar equipment.
* Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
* Familiarity with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
* Desirable:
* Recognized qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* LOLER certification or experience working with lifting equipment.
