About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment by providing targeted behavioural and emotional support to students. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will help students develop self-regulation strategies, build confidence, and engage more effectively with their education. This position is ideal for individuals who are patient, proactive, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small-group behavioural support to students with additional needs. Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive student engagement. Build strong and trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and structured approach to student development. Support students in overcoming social and emotional barriers to learning. Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to behaviour support plans. Uphold school policies on behaviour and safeguarding to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. Job Requirements of the Behaviour Support Assistant: A strong interest in supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges. Previous experience as a Behaviour Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Youth Mentor, or within a similar support role is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm for working with children and supporting their educational journey. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A passion for helping students achieve their full potential. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Have an updated CV ( with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
