Description Location: Leeds Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate Data and analytics are crucial for the Bank to fulfil its mission to promote monetary and financial stability. They play an important role in informing the Bank's decisions, its operations, and the information it provides to the public. The Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate (DAT) helps the Bank make the best use of data and analytics to fulfil its mission. Almost everything the Bank does depends on data and our ability to use it effectively. The Bank is prioritising investment to modernise how we manage our data and carry out our analytical processes. DAT comprises four divisions: Advanced Analytics Division; Data Strategy and Implementation Division; Data Transformation Programmes Division; and the Data and Statistics Division. The Data and Statistics Division (DSD) is the Bank’s centre of expertise for the collection, compilation, dissemination, and publication of regulatory and statistical data. As part of this, DSD encourages innovation and promotes quality to support analysis, and policy’ and decision-making by the Bank’s various committees, as well as UK government departments and international organisations. DSD collects data from banks and buildings societies, credit unions, insurance companies, regulated mortgage lenders and mortgage administrators. This is done via nearly 40 statistical collections and over 200 regulatory collections. We cleanse a sizeable proportion of these datasets and publish a large volume of statistical data via our interactive database. We support the Bank’s policy committees and the Prudential Regulation Authority Board. Our data are used in a number of publications, such as the Inflation Report, Financial Stability Report, Credit Conditions Review, Stress Test Results, FPC Core Indicators, and Quarterly Bulletins. Job description The Division is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager to lead the Regulatory Data Group (RDG). The RDG Senior Manager will work closely with the DSD Leadership Team to support the division’s strategic direction. This is an exciting period of change for DSD, leading and feeding into multiple Data Transformation Programs such as Transforming Data Collection and delivery of the Bank wide Data and Analytics Strategy. As regulatory data stewards for the PRA, RDG employs advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to efficiently quality assure regulatory data, helping to ensure the continued integrity and effectiveness of our regulatory framework. The new Senior Manager will oversee all aspects of RDG’s routine and project work, ensuring the appropriate level of resourcing to balance budgetary considerations against delivery requirements. The job holder will also be responsible for ensuring that RDG contributes to the effectiveness of the various project pools in DAT as a whole, including the DSD project pool and Directorate-wide projects though the provision of resources and expertise. The Senior Manager will set the strategic focus for their group, drive results, and provide constructive challenge. They will also be expected to act as a credible role model for a diverse and skilled group of staff, investing in group members to get the best out of them. As a senior member of both DSD and DAT, the job holder will be expected to participate fully in and contribute to the leadership of the Division; and where appropriate, the Directorate as a whole. Key responsibilities: vLead the Regulatory Data Group in delivering its core objective of regulatory data stewardship for the PRA. Manage effectively RDG’s budget and collaborate with their Senior Manager peers in the management of the Division’s budget. Support the delivery of, and be an advocate for, DAT and DSD’s strategy and strategic direction. Role Requirements Minimum Criteria Please insert the minimum requirements for the role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as the job will involve representation at senior level and with major external institutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Desirable Criteria Some understanding/knowledge of the PRA supervisory approach, and related banking and insurance regulations. Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. This role offers a salary of Leeds £79,010 - £91,170.
