The Dolphin is a lively pub known for its vibrant atmosphere, food service, exciting events, and promotions. We’re looking for an energetic and reliable Assistant General Manager to join our team, help manage daily operations, and uphold our high standards.
Role Overview:
The Assistant General Manager plays a key role in daily operations, staff management, and customer service. This role will also include administrative duties, from scheduling to graphic design for promotional materials. You will work closely with the General Manager to support growth, deliver excellent service, and maintain a welcoming, organized environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and manage staff to ensure a positive work environment.
2. Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
3. Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing events, including Hospitality Nights, seasonal promotions, and food specials.
4. Administrative Tasks: Use Excel and Word to manage schedules, track inventory, and create reports.
5. Graphic Design: Design posters and social media graphics to promote events, drink deals, and specials.
6. Inventory & Ordering: Monitor stock levels, manage orders, and maintain accurate records to support both bar and kitchen operations.
7. Sales & Profitability: Contribute to meeting financial targets by controlling costs and promoting sales.
8. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
9. Staff Training: Help train and onboard new team members to uphold service and quality standards.
Requirements:
1. Experience in a supervisory or management role in hospitality, ideally in a pub, bar, or food service setting.
2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for administrative tasks.
4. Graphic design skills for creating posters and promotional materials (experience with tools like Canva or Photoshop is a plus).
5. High integrity and trustworthiness, with a customer-focused approach.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, effective decisions.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
