Advert Professional Advisor Single Access Point (Permanent) (16/1055) Dumfries £34,161 - £36,564 This is an exciting opportunity to join the region’s ASP MASH team as part of a Professional Advisor role. The purpose of this is to develop an integrated approach to the ‘front door’ contact on behalf of the Health and Social Care Partnership. You will be required to work 36 hours per week. The responsibilities of the role are to assist with the development and implementation of the service delivery as well as supporting the team through challenging times of change. Developments in health and social care and the changes required to improve service delivery, can often be fast paced and require tight timescales to be met. Therefore, organisational skills and time management are key. The post holder will also work closely with the existing senior social worker, the other Professional Advisors within the team working with others in a multi-disciplinary way and also the people we support. The successful candidate will be a flexible team player. You need to demonstrate a positive attitude, a calm approach and real drive and determination to offer the very best in quality service. You must have experience of dealing with members of the public and will appreciate the confidential nature of this post and be sensitive to the needs of others. You should have an understanding of the legislation and core values of social work to maintain the integrity and continuous improvement of our service including flexible working patterns. Highly developed communication skills, both spoken and written, are crucial in this role and you’ll also need good listening and questioning skills along with the ability to explain information clearly. The work of the team is underpinned by electronic record-keeping requiring accuracy and attention to detail when updating and creating personal data, recording referrals and passing information to partners. The Professional Advisor role is also to screen the completed referrals to determine next steps as well as signposting to partner agencies. The successful candidate should be educated in further/higher education relevant to health and social care or SCQF level 6 eg SVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
