Description:
Trainee Machine Tool Service Engineer required to learn all aspects of special purpose precision machinery demonstration and service within a fast paced solutions specialist environment covering the UK.
Our established client specialises in the supply of precision CNC controlled special purpose machinery for customers throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and articulate Trainee / Junior Machine Tool Service Engineer to complement their professional team and learn all aspects of a field service engineering position in an engineering and customer facing environment.
As a blue chip aerospace approved supplier with a dedicated demonstration and training facility, they additionally supply a range of filtration and cooling systems and are looking to recruit a junior / trainee machine tool field service professional able to develop their skills and experience in all aspects of mechanics, hydraulics and electronic systems as well as machine control software in order to undertake both planned preventative and reactive breakdown repair and service on a range of equipment at customer sites throughout the UK.
In addition to maintaining and servicing highest precision 5 axis tool and cutter grinding machines, the successful candidate will also possess an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn approach with excellent communication skills that could be used to identify potential future opportunities for the business, referring the identification of service contract opportunities or new machine sales solutions to the sales team and benefitting from an attractive commission scheme on all new revenue generated.
After an initial probationary period, the successful candidate will assist the experienced field service team in the sale and demonstration of precision machining solutions including tool and cutter grinding machines, as well as learning and undertaking CNC programming activities on a range of prestigious machine providers equipment. As the role is a service position and customer satisfaction is paramount, there may be occasional “overnight stays away” required to ensure works are completed as a priority.
To be considered for this unique training opportunity in the precision engineering sector, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will either be a graduate mechanical engineer or already an apprentice with at least 12 months commercial experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing environment – and essentially you will hold a full clean UK driving licence. You will have attained a relevant engineering qualification (ideally NVQ level 3 or above or City and Guilds) and possess excellent communication and organisational skills that are essential in a customer facing service role, with basic electrical fault diagnosis and repair skills proving distinctly advantageous.
