The Opportunity:
The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a highly motivated Research Associate in Interfacial Science & Engineering with expertise in experimental techniques and an interest in the wettability of surfaces. This position will contribute to the project “Understanding the motion and adhesion of complex fluids on engineered surfaces” (funded by the Leverhulme Trust grant RPG-2024-339) within the Institute for Multiscale Thermofluids at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will work in the Wetting, Interfacial Science and Engineering Lab with Professor McHale and will collaborate with colleagues at the University of Birmingham.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* Highly motivated with excellent experimental skills in interfacial science and engineering.
* Strong organizational, communication and critical thinking skills.
* Record of high-quality refereed journal publications (relative to career stage).
* PhD (or near completion) in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or closely related discipline.
* [Desirable:] Experience of research on surface wetting.
