Professional Lead (Kaizen Promotion Office) We are looking for a dynamic, highly experienced improvement specialist to help lead the Kaizen Promotion Office in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). You will be an expert in lean improvement methodologies, and passionate about improving healthcare for our patients. About Us: LTHT is one of the largest and most complex organisations in the NHS, with around 20,000 staff, looking after 1.5 million patients each year, across seven sites and with an operating budget of more than £1billion. In 2015, we were one of five trusts in England who partnered with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle to introduce lean methodologies. The result was the Leeds Improvement Method (LIM), which is transforming care across our Trust, and also the Integrated Care System. We combine LIM with our Leeds Way Values, co-produced by our people, setting a truly vibrant culture - one in which innovation and transformation can thrive. Our Kaizen Promotion Office looks after the Leeds Improvement Method. It is a young and vibrant team, which is going through transformation of its own. We are creating a new triumvirate to lead the KPO into the next exciting phase of our transformation journey. The triumvirate will comprise an Associate Medical Director, a Service Manager, and a Professional Lead (this role). About You: Your core passion will be transformation, and you will have a proven track record in delivering improvement in healthcare using lean methodologies (which evolved from the Toyota Production System). For success, this role requires you to bring clinical or operational experience in a healthcare setting, including having led improvement work. You will need to be creative, and demonstrate the values, attitude and behaviours that support meaningful and sustainable change. You will be an inspirational leader, capable of harnessing the talents of a vibrant team of specialists, whilst giving expert advice to senior colleagues across the Trust about the use of the method. If you are interested in finding out more, or for an informal discussion about this role, please contact either Mr Gerard Kelly (Associate Medical Director, LIM) [gerard.kelly3nhs.net] or Stuart Haines (General Manager, Corporate Medical CSU) [stuarthainesnhs.net].
