This position is an integral member of the Development Team and is responsible for designing, performing, and interpretation of experiments in support of Revvity product development workstream, specifically related to immunology and assay development.
They will show ability to work unsupervised and under their own direction.
They will suggest courses of action based on laboratory activities and develop resolution strategies with their line manager.
Ensure that the experiments are well organised and show responsibility in organising equipment time, equipment availability, lab space and general aspects of the experimental design to allow the results to be generated in a timely manner.
Be able to manage their own time to allow work on several projects at once.
Be responsible for the design of experiments and conduct and record keeping of experiments as defined by workstreams.
Ensure that all data/experiments/reports/lab book are created and kept in the correct manner as expected by Revvity.
Training other members of the development department and present scientific data to both an external and internal audience
At least a PhD Degree or Equivalent in Immunology with experience in conducting and running R and D programs for assays and products.
A candidate who shows excellent knowledge and understanding of T cell immunology with significant practical experience in the area will also be considered.
Fully lab trained in all aspects of the lab activities for the projects they are assigned to and make sure fellow scientists are of the same skill level.
90% lab-based role.
Overall responsibilities:
1. Works closely with the Development Manager/scientists and junior scientists, responsible for designing experiments that are conducted in line with overall product development strategy.
2. Must be able to conduct and design experiments without supervision from their line manager and show a level of autonomy in all actions which includes supervision of others.
3. Demonstrate the ability to work with all other departments including regulatory and quality, specifically on development projects.
4. Required to be involved in training other members of the team.
5. Will be a proactive figure in project meeting and show a level of understanding for the development projects which includes experiment design as required plus project direction choices.
6. Must be able to generate data independently and be able to defend it to other members of the team.
7. Supervise the day-to-day workloads of junior scientists within the team.
8. Acting as a SME functional within a number of Revvity Projects.
9. Produce and present reports to both the development team and the wider Revvity family.
Specific deliverables for the role are:
10. Be responsible for the design of experiments and conduct and record keeping of experiments as defined by workstreams and ensuring that work is completed to agreed timelines.
11. Ensuring that any likely delays or issues with a given project are communicated to their supervisor in a timely manner.
12. Travelling to internal and external sites at short notice to ensure project milestones are met.
13. Prioritising workload to ensure key objectives agreed with supervisor are met. Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated.
14. Performing duties in other departments, e.g. ODL routine testing on an occasional basis to meet critical Company objectives as required.
15. Supervising the work of new/junior members of the team as required. Presenting data at internal and some external meetings and to external collaborators and at International Symposia as required.
16. Ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management System and to the required Regulatory standards.
17. Ensuring that conclusions written in experimental reports reflect the data presented and reports are of high quality.
18. Ensuring that the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2003, and ISO 17025:2005, is adhered to at all times and in all aspects of the job.

Profile Of Candidate
22. An understanding of the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries
23. Familiarity with Quality System concepts and requirements including GMP and ISO systems.
24. Assay development experience based around immunological assays.
25. Demonstrated product development experience, ideally whole life cycle.
26. Committed laboratory scientist, spending the majority of their working time in a lab environment.
27. A PhD Degree or Equivalent in Immunology or at least 3-4 years relevant experience.
28. Experience in assay development specific to T Cell/Antibody technology.
29. Working knowledge on TCR function and applications.
30. Up to date knowledge/expertise on new advancements in immunology and in new advancements in immunological diagnostics.
31. Working experience of assay development (ELISA)
32. Identify innovative immunological technologies that will benefit our assay development processes
