CBS News London Bureau is looking for a forward thinking and creative Planning Producer. This is a job for someone who has a passion for news, is highly organised with the ability to tackle problems before they happen. A Planning Producer must be a real multi-tasker with advanced planning skills, able to keep across editorial while looking after the daily needs of a busy news bureau. The role must support the needs of staff who travel internationally as well as those in the London Bureau and international offices.
What will you be doing?
* Assisting in running the planning diaries - both editorial and logistics
* Drafting rotas for sign off for newsdesk and coordinators, production crews and editors.
* Ensuring the daily reporting of staffing and tracking annual leave allowance
* Working alongside the newsdesk on travel bookings
* Project work on specific shoots/assignments including liaising with US broadcasts
* Assisting with breaking news and large/planned news events.
* Assisting with management of outpost staff globally and hiring local fixers internationally.
* Management of admin relating to passport, visa, press card applications, accreditations
* Liaising with finance department tracking travel expenditure. e.g excess baggage/transport.
* Taking responsibility for the newsdesk payment card, consolidating monthly
* Being responsible for the Intern and work experience opportunities; Liaise with Universities to bring in Interns from the USA and hire local Work Experience candidates
* Engineering liaison, coordinating on deployment/equipment needs.
* Able to act up and assist the Bureau Management with deployments
* Liaising with external provider/partners such as BBC, FBS, TBS, Dataminr, subscriptions, translators, transport companies.
* Check invoices of freelance newsdesk, editors and crew to send for final approval.
* Assist with new technology development including Wolftech promotion and engagement in London and other bureaus.
* Liaising with the High Risk Team and Bureau Management to book HE training courses
* Assisting with travelling staff care before, during and after assignments.

* Coordinating broadcast news camera crews and editors.
