Job Title: Mechanical Repair Project Engineer
Working Pattern: Full-time
Job Location: Solihull/Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Repair Engineer to join our Aftermarket team in Solihull. In this role you will develop repair process definitions for our hydromechanical Control Systems products (e.g., Fuel Metering Units, Fuel Pumps, Actuators) by optimizing concepts and solutions within agreed engineering and business constraints. You will enhance the competitive and commercial performance of Rolls-Royce and its customers across the product life cycle.

What you will be doing.
In this role, you will:
1. Identify opportunities for new repairs and develop repair definitions to meet the needs of the business and customers. Return service run components back to a serviceable condition utilizing various manufacturing/lab processes.
2. Define and maintain technical requirements for component repair processes and ensure compliance with them. Ensure that all engineering, design and other specification requirements have been correctly understood, accounted for, verified and recorded when defining and implementing the repair method.
3. Define the validation and verification requirements for repair definitions.
4. Create and maintain relationships with customers and internal specialists through good communication to ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements.
5. Review repair scheme and substantiation developed by third-party suppliers. Delegation of Repair Engineer Design is desirable.

1. Relevant Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree or equivalent industrial experience.
2. Good knowledge of functionality of relevant components and systems with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of the product.
3. Knowledge of Control System hydromechanical products is desirable; Fuel Metering Units, Fuel Pumps, Actuators.
4. Knowledge of repair processes/techniques, and materials properties for the selection of material or execution of process.
5. A mindset for creating technical solutions with a Life Cycle Cost philosophy.
6. Understanding of Engine Certification Basis (Desirable but not mandatory).
