The purpose of this job is to provide technical support within the Technical Services department of the Pharmacy, assisting with supervision of the work of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers.
The post holder will undertake duties involved in the provision of the clinical trials service within the pharmacy department, operating within procedures and current legislation governing the management of clinical trials and pharmaceuticals.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent OR BTEC National Certificate in Pharmacy services or a recognised equivalent qualification to allow for compulsory registration OR a qualified Scientific Manufacturing Technician
* Current nationally recognised Accredited Checking Technician qualification
* Evidence of CPD
* Specialist training in Technical Services i.e. Technical Pharmacy course(s) in house
Experience
* Significant post registration experience in a hospital or aseptic pharmacy environment demonstrating expertise in pharmaceutical technical procedures
* Experience of manufacturing products aseptically and can provide evidence of aseptic validation
* Experience of leading on personnel selection, managing teams and individuals
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* Ability to manage time effectively to cover all aspects of the role
* Ability to react to and manage the changing situation within the department on a daily basis and manage staff accordingly.
* IT literate in Word, PowerPoint and Excel or equivalent programs. Excellent keyboard skills
* Able to supervise and act as a role model to others
