Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive, motivated Finance Officer to join our team. We are looking for someone with business acumen and pinpoint focus as you’ll be a key figure in the collective effort to deliver our bold vision for the future. You will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. You will understand strategy and be a key player in our future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
* Preparation of monthly and annual reconciliations and management accounts, monthly payroll for all staff and day to day accounting using Xero software.
* Working with the CEO and Senior Management Team to find new ways of working that meet our needs and boost the financial acumen of the organisation.
* Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
* Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organisational policies.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support financial decision-making.
* Assist with audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports and other financial tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
* A recognised accounting/finance qualification (e.g. CIMA/ACCA).
* Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
* Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
* Proficiency in financial software such as Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to see the bigger picture.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Be available to work on-site when needed.
* Understanding of the VCSE sector/co-operative organisations.
* A willingness to learn and grow in the role as we adapt our business to meet the needs of our clients and communities.
* A willingness to try new ideas and create possibilities.
* Excellent listening skills and approachable nature.
* Responds positively to change and new challenges.
* The ability to represent the organisation as an ambassador.
