Role overview:
The role is a hands-on CTO position, looking after a technical team of around 20 people. Not only do you need to be a strong engineering manager, or head of engineering, you’ll need to have a strong past or present experience being hands on with tech, either as an architect or hands-on with the tools, so you can guide and lead people.
There are 4 technical teams; Backend API team (handling Infrastructure), Mobile, Frontend, and QA teams. There is also a product team.
Responsibilities:
* Technology Strategy: Develop and implement the company's technology roadmap in alignment with business goals.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Product Development: Oversee app development and enhancements, ensuring high performance and user satisfaction.
* System Architecture: Design scalable and secure system architectures to support the company's growth.
* Collaboration: Partner with marketing and support teams to align technology with customer needs and company goals.
* Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous product innovation.
Essential Experience:
* Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably as a CTO or Head of Engineering
* A strong product background, building and launching product(s) for the business.
* Strong hands-on experience building or architecting AWS cloud infrastructure.
* Strong background in software development and system architecture.
* Experience with mobile app development and deployment.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
* Passion for health, fitness, and technology-driven solutions.
