We are looking for somebody to work as part of the pre-school team to provide safe and high-quality care and education for young children in both the toddler and pre-school rooms.
Wage
£14,133.60 a year
Employees are paid on the 28th of each month for the days between 23rd of the previous month and the 22nd of the current month.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
* To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
* To plan activities which ensure children are working towards the early learning outcomes.
* To work towards being a key person.
* To help set up for the daily programme and to help pack away at the end of the session.
* To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments.
* To work towards liaising with parents/carers, informing them about the Pre-School and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
* To actively participate at team meetings, supervision meetings and appraisal meetings.
* To ensure all needs of college work are met and completed in a timely manner.
* To understand and work to pre-school policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.

* Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
* Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
* Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
* Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
* Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
* Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child.
* Undertake the role and responsibilities of key person.
* Recognise and apply theories of attachment to develop effective relationships with children.
* Provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years.

Your training plan
Monthly college attendance at Warrington & Vale Royal College and four days in the workplace.
