An exciting opportunity to work in the Swindon Radiotherapy Satellite Centre
We are looking for a part time ( or full time, caring and highly motivated Radiotherapy Assistant to join our friendly and welcoming radiotherapy team at the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @Swindon, based on the Great Western Hospital site.
You will be part of a team committed to providing a high-quality, caring and compassionate service for patients, their relatives and friends. You will make a positive contribution to a patient’s care experience.
Be at the heart of patient care by providing essential support across both the clinical and administrative areas of the radiotherapy department. This role offers the opportunity to engage with patients directly whilst also ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
You’ll play a vital role in reception, handling patient bookings and coordinating hospital transport for those attending planning and treatment appointments. In addition, you’ll take on a variety of clerical, housekeeping, and clerking-in duties, making a real difference in the patient experience and contributing to a well-organised, welcoming environment.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide a courteous reception service
2. Liaise with transport providers booking and amending transport as required
3. Support Doctors clinics
4. Provide informative first-day discussions to patients, ensuring they feel comfortable, informed, and confident about their treatment journey. Explain the treatment process, answer questions, and offer reassurance to help ease any concerns, creating a supportive and positive experience from day one
5. Liaise with the Radiographers regarding patient treatment and care
6. Maintain stock and re-order when required
7. Assist with patient booking system
8. Maintain tidiness in all the waiting areas ensuring the department looks welcoming and friendly for patients
