JOB TITLE: NRSWA Inspector JOB LOCATION: Cumbria TERMS: Permanent role THE JOB This role is to ensure Fibrus site activity is compliant with NRSWA 1991, TMA and associated legislations. You will be responsible for inspecting and supervising Fibrus activities on the road, and coaching & mentoring site staff, while working collaboratively with authorities. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Carry out the inspection and monitoring of works to ensure that they are being undertaken safely and in accordance with the current requirements namely the NRSWA 1991, SROH and the safety at Street-works and roadworks code of practice. Ensure on site staff are aware of and comply with all NRSWA legislation, instances when non-conformances are identified, undertake on site guidance and training and complete corrective action. Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (internal/external) providing feedback from site inspections and driving improvement throughout network construction. Establish and maintain productive 2-way relationships with authorities. Produce weekly and monthly reports detailing audit completions, issues and trends from site. Provide onsite support for authority escalations in real time, defect, live site, S81's etc, attending site meetings when required. Gather and produce evidence to support and challenge breaches to highway legislation or health & safety. Implement avoidance actions in line with prosecutions / or act as a witness for such evidence in court cases that relate to activities on or adjacent to the public highway. Utilisation of NRSWA hosted streetworks noticing systems, including interrogation/analysis and investigation of inspections To be responsible for, and lead on a programme of coring, collate, investigate, and report findings to the Head of Build. Attend authority meetings to disclose information on site findings, technical information. Engage in contractor training workshops to reduce risk to Fibrus reputation. Carry out other duties appropriate to the post as may be reasonably requested by line manager. Undertake supervisory duties with regard to works on site WHAT WILL YOU BRING? Experience of NRSWA 1991 and associated legislation. Experience in inspecting works in line with the SROH and safety at Road and Street Works Code of Practice. Experienced with Microsoft word, Outlook and Excel. Excellent customer service Good organisational skills, including prioritising workloads, decision making, time management and negotiation. Good attention to detail and skills which demonstrate thoroughness and accuracy in completing tasks. Ability to collaborate with multiple build partners and stakeholders (Internal/External) Skills & Qualifications Significant experience as a NRSWA inspector NRSWA Supervisor Operative Lantra 1D Full UK driving license Working knowledge of the NRSWA 1991 and associated codes of practices IS FIBRUS FOR ME?
