A vacancy has arisen in the Special Care Baby Unit Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for a Neonatal Health Care Support Worker Band 2 We are a Level 3 Neonatal Unit, consisting of 4 ITU, 2 High Dependency and 14 Special Care cots. At present we have 6 qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in post & 1 in training. We are a forward thinking unit looking for an individual to join our team. You must possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work within the team as well as on your own initiative. You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care and use a holistic approach to family centred care. This is a non patient contact role due to the vulnerable group of patients cared for within NNU. The shifts within this post are 12 hour shifts, day duty commences at 0700-1930 and night duty 1900-0730 Please note the salary for this post is pro rata for part time hours. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
