We are looking for a Field Supervisor to join the team covering the UK via its regional setup. We are particularly looking for someone to cover the North Region, which includes Scotland & Northern Ireland.
Main Role Objectives and Responsibilities:
The Field Supervisor (Cornerstone Account) will be responsible for a team of multi-skilled engineers in a designated location/patch, which will be a subset of a Region. These engineers will be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of passive assets in their location/patch of control. The primary role of the Field Supervisor will be to lead, support, and challenge their group of engineers to deliver the best service possible. They will also play a hands-on engineer role, working on the tools conducting reactive and preventative maintenance tasks. They will ensure their team has the knowledge, tools, and equipment to work safely, effectively, and efficiently. This is a people manager role and as such, the Field Supervisor (supported by the Regional Operations Manager) will be responsible for providing regular feedback on the performance of individuals in their team and as part of formal end-of-year reviews.
The split between days on the tools and days spent providing supervision and associated admin is not prescriptive, but a minimum expectation would be 3 days in the field on average. A full driving license is a necessity with no more than 6 points.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure your team of multi-skilled engineers work safely and adhere to all relevant Health and Safety Policies.
2. Support your team to be the best they can.
3. Challenge your team to be the best they can.
4. Be a visible Field Supervisor to your team through all mediums available, i.e., Face-to-Face meetings, Site visits, Teams Calls, and email communication.
5. Proactive supervision of your team, completing regular site visits to support functions such as Quality Audits, Health and Safety Audits, Mentoring, Coaching, and Training.
6. Work with key internal stakeholders to oversee and manage the delivery model for the attainment of preventative, reactive, and quality KPIs in your geographical region of control.
7. Drive service excellence within your teams (Motivate, Develop, and Engage).
8. Ensure the entire field teams are trained and accredited to the correct level to fulfill their tasks.
9. Support the recruitment of new engineers.
10. Ensure we have enough engineers (Availability) on the park to deliver the work required and within SLA.
11. Work with your national peers to share “Best Practice.”
12. Set and continuously measure the SMART objectives of your team members.
Ideal Candidate:
You will have the following skills & experience:
1. Proven telecommunications engineering experience achieved at a team engineer/team leader level.
2. Strong knowledge of Health and Safety within a field environment.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with good presentation skills.
4. Experience of building relationships with peers across a delivery organization, i.e., a mix of SOC, Field, Logistics, Health, and Safety, etc.
5. Confidence to step up and play a people manager role.
