Working in the Simulation and Means team to perform various simulations, analysis and evaluations of components, assemblies and products using various analysis tools and techniques. This is carried out at all stages of the product design process, from identification of initial opportunity through to successful operation in service.
1. Lead simulation work packages and, depending on the scope, manage or co-ordinate the work of others.
2. Plan schedules and milestones for the project.
3. Work within the project budget to meet programme deadlines.
4. Liaise with outsourcing organisations and their personnel for outsourced work packages.
5. Accountable for delivering work package outcomes to design project teams.
6. Perform simulations, analysis, and evaluations using various tools and techniques e.g. hand calculations, FE analysis of static structural (linear/non-linear), dynamic, modal, vibration, thermal, and stress analysis.
7. Use simulation, analysis, and evaluation expertise to solve technical problems relating to product design.
8. Oversee an agreed scope of work, ensuring contributions to the integrity of the overall design solution.
9. Plan work schedules and project milestones, working within budget to meet deadlines.
10. Liaise with Lead Engineers and Project/Programme Managers to stay abreast of customer needs.
11. Support the Simulation and Means team with long-range planning for team development.
12. Author, review, and approve engineering documentation related to Simulation and Means activities.
13. Provide training and guidance on stress, vibration, fatigue, and rotordynamics principles.

Job Requirements
Ideally Degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline.
1. Good experience and understanding of product, assembly, and component analysis, with experience of Ansys workbench.
2. Experience in LS-Dyna and N-Code.
3. Good knowledge of CAD tools and their capabilities.
4. Good experience and understanding of bearing selection and lifetime calculation.
5. Experience of supervising others.
6. Effective project management with client relationship management and commercial skills.
7. Ability to work in a time-pressurised manufacturing environment and resolve daily product issues.
8. Excellent communication skills to manage others.
9. Ability to produce competent technical reports.
10. Ability to perform advanced stress hand calculations, structural analysis, dynamic, modal, vibration, thermal, and stress analysis.
11. Good knowledge of materials and their properties in engineering design.
12. Competent in using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project tools.
13. Experience in the aerospace industry would be beneficial.
14. Awareness of CFD analysis would be beneficial.
15. Awareness of manufacturing processes would be beneficial.
