An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic lawyer to join our busy and friendly in-house legal team.
We are looking for a lawyer to undertake a varied local government caseload but with a proven track record in and a primary focus on commercial property. The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of general property and landlord and tenant law. The Council has a large retail and office portfolio and good experience of transactional lease work in these areas is essential but you may need to be prepared to assist in other areas as required.
You will provide high quality support and advice to colleagues and officers of the Council as well as providing support to other members of the legal team. We are looking for a positive, flexible and self-motivated lawyer who contributes to good team spirit in our small but friendly team.
You should be enthusiastic, confident and organised and be able to work on your own initiative able to manage a busy workload to tight deadlines. In exchange, the Council offers support in continuing your professional development as well as a wide range of employment benefits.
The role will involve evening committee work as and when required and is based at the Civic Offices in Woking.
