The Organisation:
A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; including victims of domestic violence, ex-offenders, young people, people with mental health difficulties, and those struggling with substance misuse. This company operates supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders who have left a prison setting. The service focuses on instilling independent living skills, positive wellbeing, and personal development, working towards preventing repeat offending.
The Opportunities:
1. Full-time role; Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
2. Competitive pay rates; Housing Support Workers are paid GBP19.01 (Umbrella) per hour, plus GBP0.45 per mile for travel between services.
3. Contract length of 3 months with potential for extension and/or permanence.
4. Position based across Wolverhampton.
5. Administration work can be completed remotely with state-of-the-art IT equipment provided.
6. Work with service users - Adults & Children with complex needs.
The Responsibilities:
* Ensure service users reach their goals in line with service objectives and reconnect with their community through transitions to jobs, housing, training, and self-employment.
* Maximise contact with other agencies, making the best use of sustainable support across the city, involving multi-agency collaboration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload within required standards.
* Work with service user referrals in a planned manner to meet needs and manage risks, ensuring realistic goal setting.
* Participate in the WISMS assertive outreach service.
* Develop and implement intergenerational activities to help service users achieve their goals.
* Support family interventions through case discussions, group supervision, and contributions to service model development.
* Provide structured interventions, developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.
* Establish and maintain effective links with professionals and organisations to build a support network for service users.
* Utilise the ILLY information management system in line with service policies and guidelines.
* Develop and maintain service user involvement activities in line with best practices.
* Represent and promote the service, encouraging active participation from service users and the community.
* Create and maintain relationships with funders and partners to enhance service quality and align performance objectives.
The Requirements:
* Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and either already possess or obtain business/commercial insurance for the vehicle.
* Experience in supporting clients/service-users with complex needs is essential.
* Proactive and able to use initiative to manage a caseload.
* Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
* Ability to support others in tenancy sustainment and income management.
* Must have an ENHANCED DBS (on update service) for Adults & Children.
The Desirables:
* Relevant training in housing or health and social care.
* Over 3 years of experience in a relevant position (e.g., Support Worker).
* Understanding of housing law and frameworks relevant to those with complex needs.
