Job Description
Our client's mission is to empower doctors with real-time diagnostic tools to improve patient outcomes. They are looking for an experienced manager for their platform engineering team. The successful candidate will be part of the engineering leadership team and manage a group of frontend, backend, and data engineers. Please come with a track record of leading teams in a scaling agile software development organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Own the technical direction and impact of their team.
2. Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes Product, Machine Learning, Clinical, and Regulatory affairs.
3. Work with direct reports to understand their motivations and develop their career paths.
4. Formulate an effective strategy for recruiting and retaining high-performing and collaborative engineers.
Requirements:
1. Graduate Degree in computer science or other quantitative fields, or Bachelor of Science with similar practical experience in an industrial or research setting.
2. Previous experience working in software development.
3. Experience working in startup environments.
4. Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams.
5. Cloud computing systems with microservices or data pipelines.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to describe complex technical concepts to colleagues with varying degrees of technical background.
7. Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
8. Knowledge of computer vision tasks including detection, segmentation, and classification is a plus.
9. Experience working with more data types (e.g. EMR, genomics, biometrics, images) is a plus.
10. Experience deploying machine learning models to production.
