The Punch Bowl Community Inn is a beloved pub located in the heart of Battisford, run by the community and operated by a small team of paid staff, volunteers and a board of directors who have come together to preserve and manage the establishment for the benefit of the community. Decisions about the pub’s operations, events, and services are made collaboratively which fosters a sense of local pride, ensures the pub remains a social hub, and reinvests profits back into the business or the community.

As a community run establishment, we focus on delivering excellent customer service, quality food and drink, and a great atmosphere. We are now looking for a Senior Bar Person to join our dedicated team, with opportunities for growth and greater responsibility for the right candidate.
Role responsibilities
As our new Senior Bar Person, you will be a key part of our team ensuring the smooth running of the bar and front of house whilst delivering an exceptional customer experience. Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing day-to-day bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Providing excellent customer service to all patrons, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
* Serving drinks, maintaining stock levels, and keeping the bar area clean and organised.
* Assisting with ordering stock and maintaining inventory.
* Handling cash and card transactions efficiently and accurately.
* Training and supervising junior staff members, offering guidance and support.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
* Working collaboratively with the management team and board of directors to improve services and assist with promotions.
* Developing your skills through training with the potential for increased responsibility.
Person specification
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy individual who is passionate about customer service and ready to take on a new and unique challenge. The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous bar experience (essential).
* Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality, personal experience.
* Leadership abilities, with the confidence to train and manage junior team members.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well with colleagues and customers alike.
* Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and drink service.
* A proactive attitude, keen to develop and grow within the role.
* A passion for working in a community-focused environment.
