This role involves a leadership & management role within our Residential Houses, providing support to children, young people and young adults.
The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all leadership and management tasks within a house, including:
1. Provision of supervision
2. Oversight of rota
3. Attending professional meetings
4. Overseeing care plans
5. Chairing team meetings
6. Financial responsibilities
7. Health & safety management
8. Medication audits
9. Attendance management oversight
The successful candidate will ensure young people are supported by a team who provide a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young people in their care.
They will also ensure their team provides appropriate levels of supervision and emotional support to young people, making themselves available at times of need.
The successful candidate will work with young people to support them in managing risk, see beyond presenting behaviours, and demonstrate compassion and empathy.
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records and documentation as required, working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet the children's needs, and upholding safeguarding procedures to ensure the well-being of all children.
They will uphold and implement the principles of the Promise Scotland and undertake quality assurance and regulatory responsibilities, which include overseeing care plans, medication, and budgets.
Other duties may include overseeing another house as directed by the senior leadership team and promoting physical tasks (for example, cleaning, cooking, and participating in various activities that promote a homely environment).
The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.

The Person
* Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
* Significant experience of working in a residential childcare environment.
* In-depth understanding of the concepts and principles of attachment promoting & trauma-informed care.
* Significant experience of leading staff teams within a residential childcare environment.
* Educated to at least SCQF Level 8, including HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People), or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare.
* Willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.
