Frieze 91 Membership Manager is responsible for directly overseeing and organizing the meetings, processes, and initiatives required to generate, maintain, and grow the membership base in the US. The Membership Manager will be the point of contact for US members, on hand for feedback, support, and questions. They will take an active role in members’ events and benefits and have a keen eye for detail, working collaboratively, creatively, and cross-functionally with a global team.
Year-Round Membership Events & Fair Week
* Project manage the Frieze 91 programming schedule for the year in the US.
* Play an active part in the creation and implementation of the members events program, helping to ensure that events are well planned and communicated.
* Support with outreach to/for Frieze 91 programme partner galleries, museums, non-profit institutions, and members ahead of key events and in the lead up and during the fairs.
* Oversee all Frieze 91 event logistics in the US and execution with the support of the Events team.
* Attend all Frieze hosted events and represent Frieze 91 at relevant events in the US, including gallery and museum openings and beyond as required, with the purpose of cultivating new Frieze 91 members and identifying new programming concepts/opportunities.
* Engage with social networks and attend events, developing contacts, networking, and building awareness about Frieze 91 and how new members can join membership.
Membership Engagement
* Ensure all necessary assets and information are gathered to meet all communication deadlines - including timely press, social media, and newsletter announcements.
* Ensure regular engagement with the member portal and member app, Frieze Connect, through the implementation of a clear content and communications schedule.
* Support retention efforts by regularly following up with members, particularly ahead of renewal cycle.
* Pay close attention to resignations by members ensuring everything is done to avoid losing members.
* Identify relevant new prospective member groups and manage the upkeep of US targeting lists for organisations and individuals.
* With the support of the Partnership team, organise and attend meetings with brands and corporates to develop audiences for membership, as well as identifying new member benefits.
* Contribute to membership acquisition targets.
* Work with the VIP department to arrange meetings with museum group leaders, development staff, and curators to explore potential collaborations, partnership, and programming opportunities.
* Drive and maintain the productivity of the Frieze 91 committee, through organising and managing quarterly meetings with the committee, as well as circulating regular written updates.
* Liaise when necessary to resolve any issues with applications, payments, benefits, or fair passes.
Requirements
* Project management and CRM experience - a proven ability to manage multiple projects and clients with confidence, energy, enthusiasm, and drive.
* Proactive, self-starter with a flexible and calm approach.
* Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
* Ability to create strong relationships with members, partners, and prospects.
* A passion for excellent client service.
* An excellent communicator with high standards of performance and an analytical approach to problem solving.
* Outstanding written communication - ability to write engaging copy is a plus.
* Strategic and creative thinker with strong commercial know-how.
* Sales experience is preferred but not essential.
* Deep knowledge of US arts & creative sectors is preferred but not essential - an interest and aptitude to learn is essential.
* Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays as well as the ability to travel and attend various social functions.
