About the Role:
Long Term Futures is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Harrow. This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to work with students requiring SEN support, as well as contributing to general classroom assistance. You will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students reach their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting strategies to suit their learning requirements
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a supportive classroom environment
- Help students with organisational skills, staying on task, and building confidence in their abilities
- Support behaviour management strategies and promote positive learning habits
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates to teachers and parents where required
- Participate in wider school activities, ensuring students are fully integrated into the school community
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN, in a school or similar setting
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- An adaptable mindset to work across various subjects and year groups as needed
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
