The post sits in the HQ Resources (HQ Res) team within the Defence Academy (DefAc) Headquarters.
The DefAc at Shrivenham is situated in over 600 acres of mainly rural land and contains in excess of 100 buildings, a number dating back 100 years or more. It is used by a range of personnel including military; civil servants; students; and contractors delivering world-class professional defence and security education to representatives of the British Armed Forces, wider UK government, UK industry and personnel from overseas.
Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. Job description
This post will lead the Estates & Sustainability team for Shrivenham Station liaising with stakeholders from other branches within the Ministry of Defence and with the contractors currently providing the Infrastructure services on site.
Main Objectives�
Develop the DefAc Estate Strategy in support of DefAc Strategic Objectives, improving the Student experience, promoting innovation, identification of continuous improvement opportunities and delivering a campus environment that promotes and enables staff and student wellbeing, and fully utilised DefAc Estate assets. Manage Station Estates Budget on behalf of Station Head of Establishment, including management of accruals and reporting across the Financial Year, ensuring adherence to delegated authority and related financial responsibilities.
Lead on delivery of Estates and Climate initiatives as directed by Station Head of Establishment, providing Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) technical advice to ensure Estate Management and Assurance is conducted in accordance with Departmental policy.
Develop and approve the programme of capital projects required to meet the DefAc Estate Strategy, monitor and report progress. Coordinate Board of Officers establishment process. � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � �
Ensure adherence and conformance with all agreed Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Top Level Budget (TLB) operating procedures/ processes, particularly those detailed in the Estate Management Practitioners Guides.
Work with DefAc Industry Partners, Contractors and DefAc colleagues engaged in IP interfaces to implement coordinated assurance activities to ensure that delivered services and works are undertaken in accordance with the contracts and that the Authority has a statutory compliant estate.
In conjunction with Chief of Staff (COS) HQ Res, identify and promote Climate Change and Sustainability (CC&S) initiatives to enable DefAc to become a carbon free site within agreed time frames, ensuring that current and approved future CC&S initiatives are delivered to time, quality, and cost requirements.
Manage wider Estates team, directing and delegating activity as required, provide line management function.

4. Proficient with the use of MS Office.
5. Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
