The main activity is elective (planned) surgery, and more complex procedures such as cardiac and spinal surgery are supported by the onsite Level 3 Critical Care facilities. Who we are looking for: Registered Nurse with 5 years post registration experience in ICU (General or Cardiac) Post graduate ICU Course Experience in a Management role (NHS Band 6 or above) in a Critical Care Environment, taking regular charge of the unit Competent across a range of critical care skills supported by professional competence and knowledge. Step 3-4 Critical Care competencies. Equipment and Medical Devices competencies. Able to demonstrate the principles of accountable practice. Awareness of current research and developments in critical care. Desirable: Mentoring / teaching qualification Experience in the governance aspects of DATIX reporting, RCA's, and Investigations Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied critical care cases Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs per week, working across a 7 day service.
