Support DBA – Applications Specialist – SQL – Leeds City Outskirts
Role: Application Support Specialist / DBA
Education: None required but degree preferred
Qualifications: Any Microsoft certification considered but market experience is essential
Key Skills & Experience:
1. In-depth knowledge and experience of SQL Server DB estates
2. In-depth knowledge and experience of writing SQL / TSQL queries for fixing data issues
3. Strong 2nd / 3rd line software / application support experience
4. Experience of MS Windows OS 2000 and 2003 Server
5. Database administration
6. Creative problem solving
7. Ability to prioritise and execute tasks
Responsibilities:
1. Be responsible for 2nd and 3rd line support functions as part of the Service Desk
2. Investigate, analyse and problem solve Service Desk Incidents using SQL
3. Liaise and problem solve with Developers and with Third Party subcontractors
4. Install software updates to Customer’s live environments
5. Liaise with customers over issues and problems that they encounter
