The role of an IT Project Manager is multifaceted and pivotal to the success of technology-driven initiatives within an organization. They are tasked with overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects that align with IT strategy. This includes setting project goals, timelines, and budgets, as well as assembling and managing a project team. IT Project Managers must possess a blend of leadership, technical, and management skills to navigate the complexities of IT projects, ensuring they meet the desired outcomes and deliver value to the organization. Their purpose extends beyond mere project delivery; they are key players in driving innovation, optimizing processes, and facilitating the strategic use of technology to achieve business objectives.
What you'll be doing
ROLE PURPOSE
As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and leading the delivery of technology projects and initiatives across the International Vehicle Payments Division.
You will have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, including AGILE and Waterfall, ensuring that projects are completed within timescales and budget. You will be an experienced communicator, able to adjust your approach to converse with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels in the organization and you will recognize the importance of leading people through the change process, ensuring that plans and impacts are understood by everyone.
As a key member of the Portfolio Team, you will support the annual investment planning and budgeting process and help structure and prioritize the project investment portfolio to align with strategic plans. Where required, you will need to be flexible and willing to compromise on process and approach to achieve short-term project goals or adapt to changes in business priorities. As a leader of change across the division, you should demonstrate great problem-solving and inspirational leadership skills.

o Leading project teams under matrix-management across several lines of business across UK, Europe, ANZ, and Canada.
o Working with Agile Delivery Leads and Product Managers, leading well-managed projects to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

* Project Management
o Adapting your project management approach to suit project objectives, timescales, technology, and resources.
o Planning and reporting:
+ Fostering a strong relationship with line of business Delivery Directors to understand project priorities and feed back into portfolio management board.
+ Supporting the annual business planning process through engagement with Delivery Directors to understand their 3-year plans.
+ Scheduling, managing, and coordinating all aspects of projects.
o Project delivery:
+ Mobilizing project teams to quickly become effective, working with agility and flexibility to respond to changing priorities, dependencies, and resources.
+ Tracking and updating KPIs/OKRs of the program(s)/project(s).
+ Presenting status reports of projects to management.
+ Working with other teams to understand/inform cross-dependencies.
+ Defining project scope and schedule/plan to ensure that team and stakeholders have a clear view of deliverables, milestones, and timescales.
+ Fostering a learning culture through innovative thinking and stretching of skills.
+ Providing an open and transparent view of project progress, challenges, and performance to all stakeholders.
+ Managing risks and issues; correcting deviations from plans, ensuring stakeholders understand with no surprises.

o Owning quality throughout all aspects of your team’s work.
o Ensuring project governance is maintained and best practices are followed.
o Tracking team costs and projected project costs and time booking.
o Driving process improvement through a continuous improvement mindset.
o Assisting team development by removing roadblocks to success and utilizing company resources to improve capacity for quality work.
o Maintaining software and operating systems for project management.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Demonstrable
* Leadership in the delivery of IT projects.
* A solid understanding of modern IT systems & technologies and potentially software development theory.
* Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods; an industry qualification such as PRINCE 2 or APM-P is desirable but not essential. Proven practical experience of project delivery in a fast-moving agile organization is essential.
* Ability to motivate IT colleagues, inspire, and make project delivery fun.
* Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* A strong process improvement ethic; willingness to challenge and look for new ways of doing things.
* Flexibility and willingness to adopt approaches to meet business requirements.
* Excellent organizational skills and experience managing multiple concurrent demands.
