We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to oversee and motivate a small team working a Panama shift 6am to 6pm. You will ensure that quality standards are being met and that teams are working safely, actively looking for improvements that reduce waste and labour cost, increasing productivity and overall equipment effectiveness.
We are seeking an individual with expertise in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), experience with SAP would be considered a valuable asset.
Basic Responsibilities:
1. Ensure a safe working environment in line with policy and safety culture.
2. Train and develop your team to the highest standard ensuring conformance to audit standards and legal compliance.
3. Maintain and implement effective systems to ensure a high standard of housekeeping within the area.
4. Liaise effectively with other departments (Engineering, Technical/Quality, Planning, NPD, Production, Hygiene etc) communicating relevant information in a timely manner, maintain audit standards/legal compliance, and ensuring that production runs smoothly.
5. Manage the allocation of labour and hours within your area (agency, overtime etc).
6. Define with the team, production, quality, waste cost and other targets necessary and give support to ensure these are met.
7. Lead daily huddles with the team members communicating performance as per Redzone/shift report, raising any concerns (e.g. stock errors), and promoting a culture which encourages continuous improvement.
8. Control the usage of the WMS system to ensure all stock is transferred from different locations in a timely fashion.
9. Ensure all outbound stock is loaded to a sales order and receives a SSCC label.
Personal Characteristics:
1. Good understanding of health and safety requirements and quality systems.
2. An inquisitive approach and effective problem solving.
3. Great communication, both written & verbal with a good command of the English language.
4. Resourceful, resilient individual driven by targets and solutions.
5. Previous food manufacturing experience.
6. Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
7. Previous experience successfully leading a team and driving success.
