The Employee Relations team's purpose is to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all BlackRock colleagues, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. The team advises across BlackRock's business areas on a number of employee-related matters, including handling employee complaints.
About the ER Advisory Team
The ER advisory team provides advice and support on a broad range of employee issues, including but not limited to:
1. Employee underperformance
2. Non-voluntary employee exits
3. Interpretation of employment policy and practice
4. Advising on policy exceptions for unique employee circumstances
5. Handling employee impacts arising from business restructuring activities
The advisory team works closely with HR business partners and coordinates activity with other HR centres of expertise, engaging other internal partners such as legal and compliance.
Role Responsibilities:
Working in close partnership with HR Business Partners and reporting to the Regional Head of Employee Relations, you will:
1. Proactively provide advice and support on a broad range of employee issues across the EMEA region.
2. Manage ER matters from initiation through to conclusion, working directly with employees, business managers, and leaders.
3. Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal & Compliance to assess and mitigate risks.
4. Advise on the employee relations impact of organizational change.
5. Support the Regional Head of ER in defining and executing the ER strategy for EMEA.
6. Use the ER case management system to log matters and develop proactive strategies.
7. Interpret, communicate and maintain ER policies and processes.
8. Assist in the design and delivery of training on relevant ER topics.
9. Partner with other Center of Excellence (COE) teams on firm-wide HR projects.
10. Lead and contribute to ER-related projects as necessary.
Required Knowledge/Experience:
* Solid Employee Relations case management and advisory experience.
* Strong awareness of regional employment laws and regulations.
* Experience working in a highly matrixed and results-oriented environment.
* Sound understanding of relevant EMEA employment laws.
* Excellent consultative, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
* Ability to influence and articulate complex issues to diverse stakeholders.
* Analytical and creative mindset.
* Highly motivated to seek higher levels of performance.
* Commitment to the highest standards of excellence and integrity.
* Able to independently juggle multiple projects and stakeholders.
* Experience within the Financial Services sector preferred.
* Experience working with Workers Councils and/or other organized labor groups preferred.
