This role is within the Group CTO directorate.
They develop new products to meet the needs of their members now and in the future and provide technology leadership within the organisation and to our members and customers.
Most of the company’s technical resource and capability sits within their directorate, allowing them to focus on delivering a digital vision for members and customers.
There are a number of teams which make up the GCTO directorate, and this role is within Internal IT, in the Business Services team.
The team’s role is to develop and maintain the Salesforce platform to support our customer facing activities.
The role The Senior SalesForce Developer will lead the design, development, support, maintenance and protection of the Salesforce platform.
This role plays a vital role in continually improving and enhancing the Salesforce platform and works closely with the DXP Platform team including development manager, Scrum master, integration specialists and product owners.
The development team provides the resources for 2nd and 3rd line technical support (break/ fix), delivering changes from the operational backlog (delivered via fortnightly sprints) and project-based resources for larger change and transformational initiatives.
Responsibilities are expected to be developed and finalised over time and will include but will not be restricted to: Work closely with peers and the development manager to identify the resources required to meet the demands of the business and responsible for allocating developers and meeting these commitments.
Lead a team of developers in achieving key transformation and business performance activities.
Provide technical coaching to the team and lead technical discussions, providing guidance to other developers.
Provide line management and leadership for the Salesforce developers within the team and support their professional development in the role.
Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of policy and process within the team to promote best practice and adoption of industry frameworks including Agile and DevOps.
Advise on opportunities for Salesforce development to enhance corporate efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide 3rd line support for Salesforce including technical queries, usability, reporting, events, integration of systems, change requests and policy.
Provide system development and administration on Salesforce associated clouds including, but not limited to, Sales, Service, Experience, CPQ and Communications.
Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and support translating these into development tasks.
Consult stakeholders regarding system functionality and usability to enhance customer experience (CX).
Consistently deliver quality work to time; meeting estimates and first-time pass through QA.
Create and run unit tests.
Participate in peer testing development of new features.
Conduct manual and automated tests against work to ensure it meets customer expectations and quality standards.
Demonstrate application features to stakeholders both in person and online.
Follow internal processes and standards for managing software development across its lifecycle, from initial design to regular feature releases and bug fixes.
Provide system development and administration on Jira (and associated tools) and maintain system documentation.
Requirements Demonstratable experience in Apex, JavaScript, and Lightning components.
Demonstratable experience using (some of) SOQL, XML, JSON, jQuery, Omni studio.
Demonstratable experience in design, delivery and testing system developments.
Demonstratable experience in deploying configuration/ deployments into a live (production) environment.
Understanding of IT security principles including security by design, CIA triangle, SSO.
Previous experience working as a Salesforce developer with exposure to at least three of the following technologies: Salesforce Sales Cloud for CRM, Salesforce, Service Cloud for ITSM, Salesforce Communications Cloud, Salesforce Experience Cloud, Salesforce CPQ Previous experience using at least two of the following technologies: Copado, Conga, Adobe Sign (integrated), JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Demonstrable experience working in a technical support role (helpdesk) or customer service/ facing role.
Demonstrable experience leading and performing unit, system, peer and user-acceptance testing.
Demonstrable experience creating and maintaining system and user documentation, and peer reviewing colleague’s work.
Demonstrable experience working within Agile and DevOps frameworks.
