Job Title: Mechanical Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Inverurie, Scotland. The role is an initial 9-month contract with the potential to become permanent.
Salary: £13.05 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams and engineering drawings to assemble equipment and products accurately.
* Manufacture hydraulic systems according to designs and procedures while maintaining cleanliness.
* Monitor and control materials and products to detect defects or faults.
* Support team members and guide them as needed.
* Contribute to initiatives such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment and cost of quality.
* Maintain a safe and organized work area following 5S and LEAN Principles.
* Support new techniques, product purchases and machinery upgrades.
* Generate and implement improvement ideas and encourage idea sharing among team members.
* Respond to process improvements and implement them willingly.
* Attend daily team briefings and engage in positive discussions.
* Action tasks assigned by Cell Leader to achieve high target levels.
* Ensure product quality meets standards while maintaining output levels.
* Report issues using the engineering support system for design improvements.
* Highlight any assembly disruptions or safety concerns to Cell Leader or Manager promptly.
* Adhere to inspection and fat criteria without exception.
Requirements:
* Essential:
o Time-served apprenticeship
o National Certificate (NC) in a relevant subject
o Background in a mechanical profession
o Ability to operate basic hand and power tools
* Desirable:
o Forklift and overhead crane certificates
