We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work in the Tascor Central Property Store based at Middlesbrough Police Station. This role does involve weekend working on a rotating daytime shift pattern.
You will be part of a team who are responsible for the management of evidence recovered by Cleveland Police and also Lost & Found Property handed to the force. This includes travelling around the force area moving items of property, the disposal of items, and also the return of items to members of the public.
Role is subject to Capita and Police vetting; any job offer is subject to successful completion of this vetting.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
* Responsible for the movement and storage of items seized by Cleveland Police Officers using the NICHE RMS system, this includes driving a van around the force area.
* Responsible for the storage of found property handed in by members of the public and attempting to locate the rightful owner of the property.
* Input data from digitally recorded interview tapes on to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
* Process incoming telephone calls, emails etc., sensitively and professionally in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 1984.
* Deal with enquiries from Police Officers, Police staff and members of the public who attend the Property Office.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety Risk Assessments when undertaking the Property Handling Service.
What we’re looking for:
* A full driving licence is required – you will be required to drive a van on a weekly basis.
* Computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and an ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* A level of fitness that will enable the lifting and movement of property.
* Flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
* Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
* Customer service orientated background.
* Knowledge of Police IT systems, and Policing practices.
* Experience of driving a large van and making deliveries.
