About the role
As a Casual Exams Invigilator, you will support examinations for learners at the College. The exam cycle runs all academic year, so hours are available from October until the end of June, excluding half terms. However, please note we have peak times such as March, May, and June where you would be required to provide as much support as possible.
The successful candidates will enjoy working to strict deadlines and be able to follow set rules and regulations. They will work with high volumes of data in a busy, fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task, be highly organised, enthusiastic, and have a keen eye for detail. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to support and build upon our current, established exam team.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide a professional service to exam candidates, taking responsibility for the exam room and candidates allocated to them, always maintaining exam integrity.
* To listen carefully and comply with all instructions issued on arrival as part of the briefing for the exam session.
* To organise the exam room, including the checking of a visible and working clock, displaying the relevant notices, and distributing desk labels according to the seating plan.
* To check before the start of the exam that there are sufficient exam papers and associated material provided in the exam pack.
* To actively invigilate the exam in accordance with the regulations and to ensure that any cases of suspected malpractice are reported immediately to the Exams office.
The successful candidate will have:
* Good general standard of education, good literacy, and numeracy.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
* Organised, diligent, and accurate approach to work.
* Ability to work confidently and effectively with large groups of people.
* Flexible approach to working hours.
Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must also have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this. In addition, online checks will be carried out during the recruitment process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
