Job Description
IT Engineer to work within the PLM technical team to deliver a variety of engineering projects, to support the design, development and delivery of COTS Applications Integration being rolled out across various design and manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive, self-starting nature with a can-do attitude. The candidate should also be innovative in their approach and use of tools and methodologies.
Duties will include design, system build, application configuration, implementation, and post live support.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Reports to Project Management team on progress of work packages, specifically working on the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) projects.
Performs role of PLM Architect for Technical guidance and approval.
System development and packaging of system change definitions for the Client Engineering systems.
Provides technical input to Project Management work plans.
Creates deployment packages that will take system design through to system go-live including:
Creation and maintenance of Proof-of-Concept environments.
Creates technical build documentation.
Creates system deployment packages and package maintenance within the agreed configuration management tool.
Creation and maintenance of Integration and Customer test environments.
Supports and creates workflow design and implementation.
Monitors and ensures resolutions of performance issues.
Interfaces with support groups and production problems and technical concerns
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
Previous implementation experience of Siemens PLM and NX software.
Good understanding of UNIX (commands and scripts)
Good understanding of Windows environment
An understanding of Web Server technology.
Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative.
Experience of working in a demanding environment
Good communication skills
