A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join my client's highly regarded team as a Court of Protection Paralegal on a hybrid basis in their Birkenhead, Merseyside office.

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following:
1. Knowledge of statutory duties relevant to Court of Protection and deputyship files
2. Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook
3. Experience working with electronic case management systems
4. Experience working with trade unions
5. Ability to provide informal guidance to junior staff as required
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Working as part of a collaborative and collegiate Court of Protection team
2. Assisting the Solicitors in the department with their caseload of professional deputyships and professional trusteeships
3. Drafting legal documents including court applications, statements, and letters
4. Maintaining relationships with clients, their families, Solicitors, therapists, and other professionals via phone, email, and in person when required
5. Preparation of OPG annual reports
6. Assisting with FLA calls/emails within skill, knowledge, and experience
7. Managing deputyship and client designated account balances and providing regular reports on spending to the File Handlers
8. Making payments from the deputyship and client designated accounts as approved by the File Handler
9. Monthly reconciliation of deputyship and client designated accounts
10. Managing a caseload of execution only Personal Injury Trusts
11. Managing a caseload of lay deputyship applications
12. Opening and closing of files
