Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: Cannock
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexibility required)
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established provider of high-quality residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced care professional to step into a Registered Manager role and lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional, trauma-informed support.
The home is Ofsted-registered and offers a therapeutic, nurturing environment to children and young people requiring specialist care. You'll be instrumental in shaping the culture of the home, ensuring young people feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive.
This role would suit either:
1. A current Deputy Manager ready to step up into a Registered Manager position, or
2. An experienced Senior Residential Support Worker with a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children's Residential Care who is ready for their next challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home
2. Provide effective leadership, supervision, and support to the staff team
3. Ensure care plans are delivered in line with regulatory standards and the home's ethos
4. Maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing for all young people
5. Ensure all reports and records are of the highest quality and shared with relevant professionals in a timely manner
6. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and therapeutic re-parenting
7. Work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, families, and other professionals
8. Manage rotas, budgets and ensure the home runs efficiently
Ideal Candidate:
1. Holds a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (minimum)
2. Has at least 2 years of experience working with children in a residential setting
3. Experience supervising or managing staff
4. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and current legislation
5. Flexible, resilient, and passionate about delivering outstanding care
6. Confident communicator and capable of building strong relationships with professionals and families
7. Holds a full UK driving licence
Level 5 in Leadership and Management is desirable but not essential - full support will be provided to the right candidate to gain this qualification.
